Benefits of Exploring the World with a Travel Backpack

Regardless of whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a full 10-day adventure away from home, travel backpacks offer a number of benefits for all types of travellers. They are an attractive alternative to mini suitcases, large tote bags and duffel bags. And while travelling across different cities or countries with just a bag strapped to your back may not seem that glamorous but there’s a whole lot more going on than you think. There are many reasons and benefits of exploring the world with a backpack.

Easy to Store

One of the main reasons why you should choose a travel backpack over a suitcase is that backpacks are easier to store. Most suitcases are bulky and their wheels also add to their size. Backpacks, on the other hand, are designed in such a way that they are easy to be stored in overhead bins in a train, bus, or aeroplane. Their soft sides let them conform to tight storage spaces. Plus, many travel backpacks feature compression straps that enable you to cinch your backpack’s contents down in order to take up less space.

Well-Organised

A high-quality backpack should have plenty of pockets for storing and organizing your travel essentials so that you know where they are when you need them. Travelling with a well-organised backpack can truly make your life easier when you’re away from home. Features such as pockets with high-quality zippers are important for keeping your belongings safe. It’s also a good idea to have separate different-sized compartments and pockets. This is especially handy if you need to carry your laptop with you, as being stored in its own compartment will provide it with extra protection. If your priority is being organised, then a travel backpack is the best type of bag you can choose.

Easy to Move Around

Suitcases are easy to carry on flat surfaces, but trouble arises when you find yourself somewhere with no elevator and only stairs. Some suitcases are heavy on their own when not even packed, and if you have to lift them and carry them through stairs, then you should really be able to lift heavyweights. Travelling with a backpack is less physically demanding than travelling with a duffel bag. You won’t get tired and sore that easily. But, are travel backpacks comfortable if you need to walk for a longer period of time? Well, that depends on the type. Look for one with comfortable shoulder straps and an adjustable harness for a better fit. But if you still want to have the option to rest your shoulders and lug your luggage, you can easily find an ergonomic and comfortable sport backpack with wheels.

Putting the heaviness of your luggage aside, changing modes of transport also needs to be considered. When travelling, we usually use aeroplanes, trains, buses, trams, taxis, or ridesharing services such as UBER. It is far easier to store several bags in one trunk rather than several bulky suitcases. The benefit of using backpacks for travelling is that you can also place them in the backseat of a car, making it easier for you to switch between all modes of transport. An extra plus is that if you are close to missing your ride, it is easier to run with a backpack than lugging a suitcase in a crowded station.

Safe to Store Your Belongings

When it comes to packing important personal belongings, a lot of people wonder are travel backpacks safe for storing money and documents? Most travel backpacks have stash pockets and a lot of inside pockets. Important documents can be kept inside, safe from pickpockets. All of these compartments and pockets are quite useful and convenient, but another advantage of sports backpacks is that they are versatile and can be used for both weekend and weekly trips. A small backpack can only be used on weekend trips and that is only if you pack the bare essentials. As for suitcases, you need to buy the whole set. Depending on the duration of your trip, you would either need the cabin, medium or even large suitcase. However, with a backpack, if you are packed lightly, you can either remove the extra compartments or adjust the straps to make the backpack smaller, and vice versa!
