Decorating with Floor Rugs: the Minimal-Effort Way to Add Style to a Room

Floor Rugs

I especially love those moments when you think you’ve tried all things possible with your interior design, and then you realize there’s one more unexplored area that can result in a whole new look of your home. That’s the first thought that came to my mind when I saw a ‘floor rugs for sale’ sign in a interior design elements shop. I instantly envisioned my new mission: I was going to re-decorate my rooms in a whole new way, I just didn’t have quite the idea of what I wanted to achieve. Hmm… a blind spot? No, there’s no such thing as a blind spot anymore; just search the Internet and you’ll find your answer. I went crazy over the idea of looking for floor rugs for sale so I could get more of them at once and redecorate all my rooms. So, I researched for the possible ways of what can I achieve with them.

Enlarging a small space

With the right rug in colour and shape, you can create an optical illusion of a bigger room, especially if you add an oversized mirror. The rug should be in a rectangular shape, and in accordance with the colour scheme of the room. Especially make sure you match it with the furniture, or at least choose it a nuance darker or lighter as the overall ambiance dictates.

Bold patterns

I fell in love with the idea for rugs with bold patterns complementing a monochromatic furniture. I looked for some on the floor rugs for sale actions and I found some really cute samples. The point here is that a floor rug with patterns can bring a dose of joy and surprise in the room, especially if the walls are completely white. Don’t be afraid to give your rooms a playful tone.

Centre stage

Why not start designing a room’s look from the floor? The rug doesn’t have to be only an accessory; a good rug can be placed as the centre element in a room and every other furniture piece can be easily combined with it later on. Just pick the right material and colour pattern and suit the choice according to your budget. Then, simply build the rest of the colours and materials on that foundation.

Colour unity

If you have sofas in screaming colours, you’d like to tone them down a little. You can always use a neutral rug with details in the same colour as the furniture so that it adds to the whole ambiance of the room. A neutral rug is like an instrument for bringing unity to the whole colour scheme and for adding character to the space. A perfect wrap of the room design.

The aboved mentioned ideas are just a few of those I thought of trying in my home. The Internet is like a catalogue filled with awesome suggestions for refreshing your home when you’re bored with the current design. Of course, don’t need to mention that you have to pay attention on matters like quality and material when you choose your rug.
