3 Benefits of Case Mid-Sized Excavators

Case Construction Equipment is one of the leading manufacturers of excavators and recently, it has launched its newest mid-sized excavators CX75C SR and CX80C. These two mid-sized excavators feature the performance and the power typical for full-sized excavators, but in a more compact size. Their compactness offers convenience and increases the job site accessibility. The CX75C SR weights about 7,300 kg, while the CX80C about 8,500 kg. Although they are only identical models, these two excavators have 55 horsepower and digging force of 5,800 kg.

Operators of these excavators can be sure that they will enjoy their working hours in the super comfortable cabins. Tier 4 Final Solution

The main advantage of these two excavators is the Tier 4 Final solution, which enhances the fuel efficiency, the digging power, provides faster cycle times and more. Despite meeting the latest emissions regulations, the Tier 4 Final features high-pressure fuel injection system and electronic controls that significantly reduce the fuel consumption. Also, it features a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation system that additionally improve the fuel efficiency. When compared to the previous designs, these two excavators provide about 5% improved fuel efficiency, about 7% faster cycle times and 20% larger fuel tank for extended operating hours.

Incredibly Efficient Operation

Not only the Tier 4 Final engine improves the fuel efficiency of the two Case excavators, but they allow the operators three different operating modes in order to match the engine performance and fuel consumption to each specific task. The operating modes include auto, heavy and speed priority mode, so the operators can improve the job site and fuel efficiency significantly. The most useful mode is the Auto Idle feature, which automatically shuts down the engine when the excavator is not moving, in order to reduce the fuel consumption.

All-Around Performer

Case CX75C SR and CX80C are indeed mid-sized excavators, but they are able to operate in very tight spaces. They feature a mono or center swing boom system that allows side-digging of buildings. Although an optional feature, many operators prefer the proportional joystick control, because it makes the attachments operation easier and more convenient. Case CX75C SR has a minimum swing radius, specifically designed for operating in confined areas, while Case CX80C features a more typical tail design for a mid-sized excavator, which however does not extend as much as full-sized excavators.
